Dr Phuong Tran is a dedicated and compassionate dentist with over 20 years of general dental experience. After graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2000 she worked in Mildura for 4 years practicing all aspects of general dentistry on patients of all ages.

At SmileCo, Dr Tran enjoys practising general dentistry on patients of all ages. She particularly enjoys treating children.
Dr Tran has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry in particular tooth-coloured restorations, crowns and bridges and implant restorations.

Dr Alex Dellamalva was born and raised in Adelaide. He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2011 and has been practicing at SmileCo since 2013. Alex enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry.

He takes pride in delivering high quality treatment in a gentle manner. He believes in the importance of spending time treating patients with anxiety to ensure that their individual needs are met. He particularly enjoys working with children to teach them important dental habits in a fun and relaxing environment.

Dr Carl Maddern graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2012. After spending two years in the Barossa Valley, Carl returned to the city and found a new home in Norwood at SmileCo.

Dr Maddern has furthered his training into rebuilding broken and worn teeth, with a particular focus on cosmetic work and rehabilitation of damaged teeth. He aims to make everyone’s visit to the dentist a comfortable and pain-free experience.

Dr Moataz (known as Taz) has been practicing dentistry for 12 years prior to joining SmileCo Dental and is passionate about providing quality and up-to-date dental care to his patients.

Taz is well known as a humble, easy going guy who can always be seen with a smile on his face. He is always up for a chat and believes thorough communication and a great dental experience are integral for patients.

Taz has been practicing as a dentist since graduating from dental school in 2006. Taz has enjoyed teaching and tutoring dental students at Adelaide University and has dedicated two years to volunteering in Africa, where he acquired the majority of his surgical skills.

Dr. Rafael Dance-Hooi graduated with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2013. Throughout his career, he has worked in a variety of clinical settings, which have greatly enhanced his skills and the quality of dental care he provides at SmileCo.

His experience in an after hours Emergency Clinic has honed his ability to address patients’ discomfort with compassion and efficiency. He has worked as a clinical supervisor at the University of Adelaide Dental school, training students in clinical dentistry.

Dr. Shayda Mortal is a dedicated dentist with a passion for delivering holistic care to families. Graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2012, Dr. Mortal has gained experience in private practice and has also previously tutored clinical dentistry to Adelaide University students. As a parent herself, Dr. Mortal understands the importance of creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for families. With a unique blend of dental expertise and a background in studying psychology, Dr. Mortal takes a comprehensive approach to patient care, seeking to understand the underlying causes of oral health issues and addressing the whole person, not just their symptoms.

Dr Sharyn Borrett graduated from Bachelor of Oral Health (Adel) in 2005 and worked in private general, a specialist periodontal practice and the SA Dental Service (SADS). Sharyn completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Adel), graduating in 2011. She worked in the SADS Special Needs Unit of the Adelaide Dental Hospital for two years, whilst also working in private practice since graduating.
Her main areas of interest  in general dentistry at SmileCo are gum health and special needs – including disability, anxiety and medically compromised patients as well as children.

Dr Renu Yadav graduated from Kurukshetra University in India with a Bachelor of Dentistry and practiced dentistry for 4 years before moving to Australia in 2016. Further study was undertaken in Adelaide and now with SmileCo a dedication to dentistry has been endorsed with a desire to assist patients in achieving optimal oral health.

Dr Renu enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry with patients of varying ages and takes great enjoyment in getting to know patients under a relaxed environment. A strong belief that a good education is the key to preventing dental issues and in helping to maintain good general health. For this reason, time is spent in listening carefully to patients and providing feedback along with carefully constructed treatment plans.

Dr Wioletta has over 10 years of dental experience from Sweden and Australia, where she learned all aspects of conservative and minimally invasive dentistry. With passion for aesthetics and the cosmetic side of dentistry, she continually develops her dental skills in that area.

Her particular interest lies in crown and veneer design, dental implants as well as Botox and filler injections. She has undergone extensive surgical training here in Australia as well as in Brazil and the United States.

Dr Joshua Zheng graduated from the University of Queensland and has been working at SmileCo since 2020. Having studied and practised in a wide range of areas, from implant surgery to ceramic and veneer work, Joshua takes his time to educate patients so they can make better decisions for their dental health. His approach is warm and his patients always feel at home when in his care.

Dr Isabella (Bella) graduated with a Master of Dentistry and Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science from Griffith University, Queensland and has been part of the SmileCo team for eight years.

With her patient-centered approach, she aims to make the dental experience a comfortable and positive one, to help her patients feel confident in their smile and oral health. Her passion for general dentistry also drives her to continually enhance her knowledge through regular professional development courses.

Dr Sun loves helping people feel proud of their smile again. Currently completing a Diploma in Complex & Aesthetic Dentistry and an Orthodontics Fellowship, she has advanced skills in smile makeovers, including composite bonding, porcelain veneers, full mouth rehabilitations, and orthodontics. She approaches every case with a focus on creating beautiful, functional, long-lasting results.

A graduate of the University of Adelaide, Dr Sun received the SA Dental Service Sir Joseph Verco Memorial, and Australian Dental Association prizes for excellence.

Dr Vivian Nguyen was born and raised in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
She is passionate in helping young and old patients regain confidence with their smile, eliminate dental ache and gum issues, and rebuild confidence in their own dental care.

Vivian believes in providing comprehensive dental treatment where she will listen to her patient’s needs, provide a full range of treatment options and professional guidance to help her patients choose the treatment option that is best suited to their needs.

Dr Jimin studied dentistry and graduated at University of Adelaide in the year of 2015. After graduation, Jimin started her dental career in the Riverland through various local towns including Remark, Berri, Loxton and Waikerie serving the local community for 8 years before she moved back to Adelaide in 2023. Jimin has years of experience in a diverse scope of general dentistry and she finds that the most rewarding aspect in her profession is that she contributes to patients’ general well-being and self-confidence. Jimin has South Korean background, and also lived in Malaysia for years before she migrated to South Australia many years ago.

Dr Cherine Lit graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and also has a BSc from Melbourne. She has experience in both metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia working for the public sector. At SmileCo Cherine focuses on patient care and delivers dental treatment in a warm and caring manner.

Cherine believes in the importance of patient education to achieve ones best Oral Health.

Dr Jung graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has special interest anaesthetic and restorative dentistry. She loves interacting with patients and prioritize to ensure patient satisfaction through a gentle and attentive approach. Jung’s easy-going and understanding nature helps patients to be at ease during their visits. Dr Jung always provide high quality dental care and is constantly attending courses to broaden her skills and stay updated to the latest dental advancements. Her Taiwanese background allows her to be fluent in speaking both Chinese and English.

Dr Elaine Yu graduated on the Dean’s list with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and achieved a first-class Honor’s degree from the University of Adelaide in 2021. She has worked in tertiary hospitals including Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, and has also worked as the House Dental Surgeon at the Adelaide Dental Hospital and Royal Adelaide Hospital. Elaine’s passion is surgery and she is undertaking a Doctor of Medicine at University of Adelaide as part of the journey of becoming an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon.

Dr Brandon Hoe completed a Bachelor in Dental Surgery at Adelaide University and went on to obtain a Graduate Diploma and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Dr Hoe has cultivated interest towards orthodontic treatment and has been a Diamond accredited provider of Invisalign for many years. This is the highest accolade in the Invisalign world and SmileCo is thrilled to have him helping our patients design their perfect smiles. Dr Hoe is regularly invited to be an Invisalign speaker and is a faculty member of Invisalign APAC.

Jesse joined the SmileCo team early 2023 after graduating from the Advanced Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2022 here in Adelaide, and is also the Deputy Chair of the SA Oral Health Association of Australia. He has a friendly and positive nature and loves to work with patients in providing quality dental hygiene therapy and tailored oral health care. He prides himself on working methodically, delivering thorough and gentle treatment, helping patients maintain optimal oral health by assisting in maintaining oral diseases.

Jenna Atherton, is an oral health professional with roots in rural Queensland and a passion for creating healthy smiles. Graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in oral health, Jenna has seamlessly blended her expertise with genuine care. Having worked extensively in both the public and private sectors, Jenna has honed her skills in providing unparalleled quality care to her patients. Her approach centres on prevention, ensuring each patient feels at ease and well-informed throughout their treatment journey.

Galina graduated in 2024 from TAFE SA with an Advanced Diploma of Oral Health (Dental Hygiene). Galina was a dental assistant for four years before studying Dental Hygiene and this afforded her deep knowledge of all areas of the practice. Commencing at SmileCo has been fabulous as it is a very busy practice with wonderful patients and a supportive team. Galina is committed to delivering personalised oral health care, recognising that each patient has unique needs.

Wade is a dedicated Dental Hygienist practicing in Adelaide, South Australia. After graduating with an Associate Degree in Applied Science – Dental Hygiene in the United States in 2015, Wade relocated to Adelaide to continue providing exceptional oral health care. With a focus on patient-centric approach, Wade emphasizes comfort and professionalism in every interaction, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.

Brittani began her dental career as a Dental Assistant in 2020. She later moved to Adelaide to pursue her passion for preventive dentistry, earning an Advanced Diploma of Oral Health.
With a warm and positive approach, Brittani is dedicated to patient-centered care, providing tailored education to help individuals achieve and maintain optimal oral health. A dedicated and passionate Dental Hygienist with over five years of experience, been in dental industry for 10 years. I bring a strong commitment to patient-centred care, a solid foundation in dental hygiene practices, and a particular interest in periodontal treatment and teeth whitening.
